Ronaldo was given the punishment after being red-carded in the weekend’s 3-1 victory over Barcelona in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup.
After receiving his marching orders, he pushed the referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea, which has seen him receive an extended sanction.
Ronaldo, though, does not agree, as he wrote in English on his Instagram account: “Impossible to be immune to this situation, five games! It seems to me exaggerated and ridiculous, this is called persecution.”
Ronaldo will next be in action in the Spanish La Liga game against Real Betis on September 19, and will miss the Super Cup second leg against Barca at the Bernabeu, as well four La Liga games including a home clash against Valencia.
